Booking basics
Mobile bartenders book by the date, not the walk-in — popular Saturdays (especially May–October) go months out, so inquire early with your date, venue, guest count, and whether you want a full package or dry hire. Most will hold a date with a deposit and a signed agreement.
How they'll run your bar
“If you're planning a wedding, private party or event and want a craft cocktail bar that actually feels elevated, these are the people you want.”
“This is the second time we've hired Amaro for a company event, and every time he hits it out of the park.”
“If you're planning a wedding, private party or event and want a craft cocktail bar that actually feels elevated, these are the people you want.”
“I was initially concerned that Amaro may be out of our price range due to their familiarity and preference towards high end selections of craft beers and hand crafted cocktails.”
“I recently hired Amaro PDX for my parents' joint 70th birthday party at our home, and couldn't be happier with the service we received!”
Add-ons they offer
“We learned that Amaro PDX typically does a whole custom drink menu spread, so we were nervous our super simple beer/wine set up wouldn’t match with Amaro PDX’s services.”
“Also, I didn't have enough glassware for all of my guests so Amaro brought their own which made clean up for me an absolute breeze!”
“The way she setup the bar was gorgeous and she was fast in setup and tear down as well.”
What hosts say again and again
“I don't think there are really the words to express how great Dean made our wedding experience.”
“Dean and the rest of the team are definitely industry professionals, and they went above and beyond to ensure our guests had an incredible time and had plenty to drink.”
“We felt so welcomed, had the best time, drank the best cocktails and we even named one of our drinks after his sweet little pup Kevin (we loved Kevin.”
“Dean was incredibly fun, a pure joy to be around and our guests still talk about him and his wizardly cocktail crafting skills like it was yesterday.”
“The whole process for choosing/trying drinks was so much fun, they were very well priced, and Dean was super responsive and easy to work with!”
From the reviews
I wanted to share a unique perspective of working with Dean and his team as a fellow vendor: From the get-go, Dean was super communicative. He was clear about the services being performed about that particular event, and had a clear idea of what was needed to ensure success.
Hands down the best bartending service in Portland! Coordinating and planning with Dean was easy and delightful, he's responsive and ready for parties of all sizes. Amaro exceeded my expectations from start to finish! Kate was our bartender for a 25 person party at my home and she is absolutely fabulous!
This is the second time we've hired Amaro for a company event, and every time he hits it out of the park. Dean always suggests a really thoughtful selection of beverages that have a great storytelling component. He's got an awesome knowledge of local product and sourcing from lesser known purveyors.
My husband and I had the best experience with Dean from start to finish. We are both self proclaimed cocktail nerds so it was amazing to find someone to help bring that to life for our special day.
Booking Amaro Bartending for a wedding
Weddings come up for Amaro Bartending — confirmed on their own site, so they'll know the rhythm of the day: cocktail hour hits all at once, then the bar settles into a steady hum until the last dance. Two numbers get your quote right. First, the staffing math: the standard rule is one bartender per 50–75 guests — so a 150-guest wedding usually means two to three bartenders, and going thin here is the classic cocktail-hour line mistake. Second, drinks per guest: plan on roughly two drinks in the first hour and one per hour after; a dry-hire bartender can turn that into an exact shopping list for your headcount so nothing runs out and nothing goes back to the store.

Corporate events with Amaro Bartending
Reviews and the service's own materials mention corporate events at Amaro Bartending — holiday parties, launches, client mixers. For office events, three things are worth settling on the first call: whether they carry the liquor liability insurance your building or venue requires, whether they can run a mocktail or zero-proof menu alongside the bar, and how invoicing works if your company needs a W-9 and net-30 terms.
