Mobile Bartender Stats, 2026

We mapped every mobile bartending service we could verify in America — 4,588 services with 85,792 host reviews between them. Here's where the industry actually is, which states have the most services per resident, and how deep the wedding specialization runs. (Journalists & bloggers: cite freely with a link.)

Which states have the most mobile bartenders per capita?

Nationally there are about 13.5 mobile bartending services per million residents. The per-capita crown goes to Montana at 25.5 services per million — 29 services for a state of 1.1 million people — with New Hampshire at 24.1 and Oregon at 22.9 close behind. Mobile bartending follows the events calendar more than population: destination-wedding states and states where venues rarely have in-house bars keep more services alive per resident than the raw-population map would predict. At the other end, South Dakota has just 5.4 per million — worth knowing if you're planning an event there, because the good dates go first.

#StateServicesPer million people
1 Montana 29 25.5
2 New Hampshire 34 24.1
3 Oregon 98 22.9
4 Connecticut 79 21.5
5 Wyoming 11 18.7
6 Vermont 12 18.5
7 Massachusetts 124 17.4
8 Florida 400 17.1
9 Maine 24 17.1
10 Arkansas 51 16.5
11 Colorado 98 16.4
12 California 639 16.2
13 South Carolina 89 16.2
14 Rhode Island 18 16.2
15 Tennessee 115 15.9

By raw count the big states still win — California has 639, Texas has 411, Florida has 400 — but per host, Montana is the easiest place in America to find someone to run your bar. Downloadable: mobile-bartenders-per-capita.csv.

Two sources, one directory: Maps-verified + web-only

Most directories stop at Google Maps. We don't — because mobile bartenders are service businesses that travel to you, plenty of real operators run on a website and word of mouth without ever claiming a Google Business listing. So we compile from two sources: 4,060 Maps-verified services (ratings, reviews, photos) plus 528 web-only services found via organic web search — 12% of the directory that map-only sites simply never see.

SourceServicesWhat we can verify
Google Maps listings4,060Ratings, review counts, photos, location
Open web (own websites)528Services offered, from their own site — clearly marked "web-only", never ranked
Total4,588

Web-only listings are always labeled as such on their pages, carry no star ratings, and are excluded from every "best of" ranking — rankings require public review evidence.

Wedding specialists, state by state

Services with wedding evidence — weddings named in their own materials or in hosts' reviews — as a share of each state's directory. These are floors, not surveys: a service only counts once we've seen proof, and the counts grow as our crawls continue.

1 Montana 29 20 69%
2 New Hampshire 34 24 70.6%
3 Vermont 12 11 91.7%

5 Oregon 98 57 58.2%
6 Wyoming 11 7 63.6%
7 Colorado 98 67 68.4%

13 North Carolina 168 99 58.9%
14 South Carolina 89 49 55.1%
15 Washington 126 68 54%

Nationally, 2,410 services (53%) have confirmed wedding evidence so far. Planning one? Start at the wedding bartenders hub. Downloadable: wedding-bartenders-by-state.csv.

What the industry offers: tap trucks, dry hire, and more

Beyond the headcounts, we mine each service's own website and its hosts' reviews for the things event planners actually ask about. These counts require evidence, so they're floors that fill in as enrichment lands:

Services that…CountShare

These attributes are exactly why we badge listings: browse wedding bartenders, tap trucks & mobile bar units, corporate event bartenders, add-on services, and all event & service types.

America's densest mobile-bartending cities

Small-town standouts hosts keep booking

Mobile bartending services based in towns under 30,000 people that still pull hundreds of reviews — operators whose calendars fill from a whole region, not just their zip code.

America's most underserved party cities

The biggest US cities with zero or one listed mobile bartending service based in town — hosts there book from the surrounding region, and operators looking for an open market could do worse than this list. Largest: Lexington, KY (pop. 329k) · Sioux Falls, SD (pop. 209k) · Augusta, GA (pop. 206k).

Full table: underserved-cities.csv. "Based in town" is the operative phrase — mobile services travel, so an underserved city isn't an unserved one.

Methodology: service counts from our continuously maintained national directory — Google-Maps business listings plus web-only services found via organic web search (marked as such, never ranked); attribute counts (weddings, corporate, tap trucks, dry hire, licensed & insured) mined from the services' own websites and customer reviews; population = US Census 2024 estimates. Per-capita = services ÷ state population × 1,000,000. We're a directory — we don't sell alcohol, and neither do most mobile bartenders (dry hire is the legal norm; confirm licensing for your state and venue). Want the dataset for a story?
